Proud resident of Sheridan for over 23 years and deeply passionate about her community. Nelly has worked as the Executive Director for Sheridan rising Together For Equity for the last 5 years, where she passionately advocates for community empowerment and social justice. 

As a community leader she has dedicated to fostering connections and driving positive change. Nelly has been  a board member of South Metro Community Foundation for the last two years. She is also a proud mother of two, balancing her professional and personal life with a deep love for helping others.

On her free time Nelly enjoys spending time with her family, and listening to music.

Born and raised in the Denver metro area, Nahomy loves being able to work within her community, FOR her community. Nahomy is passionate about her community and supporting their growth and she can’t think of a better place to be, to do just that. Nahomy as an administrative assistant works on managing, organizing, and assisting with general operations. Along with her position at Sheridan Rising Together for Equity, she also works with a partner organization, Commún, as a social media & communications specialist. Within Nahomy's position at Sheridan Rising, her main goal is to engage with the community in ways that matter. Outside of work, she enjoys being active, exploring, and trying new things! Whether it's exploring out in nature or discovering new local eateries, she loves making the most of what her Colorado has to offer.

Nancy is a person passionate about helping others and strengthening community ties. She has stood out for her commitment to addressing and making visible the needs of the community, always looking for solutions and creating opportunities. She also works as an organizer of the Community Center in the organization Commun. Over time she has acquired valuable experience that allows her to better communicate with people and generate a positive impact. In her free time, she enjoys walking outdoors with her family connecting with nature.

Lizza is a dedicated, community-focused individual with a rich background in athletics and community engagement. A former student at Sheridan, Lizza was actively involved in soccer, showcasing her commitment to teamwork and sportsmanship. Before joining Sheridan Rising Together, she worked as a fitness coach, developing skills in motivation and personal development. Lizza also served as a promotora, where she played a crucial role in educating and empowering the community. With a deep passion for helping others and fostering connections, she is committed to creating a positive impact and building strong, supportive communities. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, reading, and dancing, activities that energize her and enhance her community work.

Shevy has been blessed to be living in Sheridan since 2017. She was welcomed to Sheridan Rising Together for Equity shortly after that and has done her best to serve her community in this capacity. Her favorite thing about SRTFE was that she felt a sense of community in her new city. She was able to come learn about issues, brainstorm solutions and take actionable steps with her new friends.

Victoria is a youth and reproductive justice advocate from San Antonio, Texas. Born and raised in Texas, she came to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado Boulder, where she received her BA in Ethnic Studies and MA in Education Foundations, Policy, & Practice. Since graduating, Victoria has been living and working in Denver. Having worked for organizations such as the Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity & Reproductive Rights and New Era Colorado, she is very passionate about youth and reproductive justice. As a policy professional, Victoria has been involved in the passage of state bills including the Reproductive Health Equity Act and Cover All Coloradans. She also has experience with organizing and canvassing, engaging young people with politics through fieldwork such as door-to-door conversations for a 2024 abortion rights ballot measure. In addition to her career as an advocate and educator, Victoria is a musician, DJ, and producer, playing shows all throughout Denver and, sometimes, outside of Colorado. She is also the founder of a grassroots event series that raises money for Texas abortion funds: ¡Bunnies Against Bans!. Victoria loves karaoke, driving through nature, Tejano music and culture, cooking, and cuddling with her black lab Metzi.
